We want our colleagues to feel comfortable at work and we’re committed to supporting meaningful projects. That’s why we organise events and contribute to various charitable activities in our community. Join us this pre-Christmas season for a look behind the scenes of Milmar’s past year.

Advent in the Wine Cellar

We enjoy supporting local businesses! Last year, when deciding where to hold our Christmas-themed team-building event with our administrative staff, we chose a family-run winery in Horní Dunajovice.

This local winemaker cultivates old and rare grape varieties which we had the chance to sample. We were impressed by the extensive cellars, carved deep into the rock, where the tasting took place.

We have also purchased bottles of exceptional wine as gifts for our colleagues and clients.

Party with a Farmer

On the last working day before Christmas, we held a festive gathering for all our colleagues. We wrapped up work early and enjoyed a Christmas lunch together. After the meal, everyone could join in karaoke, table tennis, and cornhole — a fun game where you throw corn-filled bags and try to land them in a hole on the board.

A highlight of the evening was an insightful lecture by Kamil Šedivý of the local eco-farm Člupy. He and his wife keep around sixty sheep and a few cows, making cheese and other dairy products from their milk. The animals graze on the meadows of the Člupy natural reserve near our headquarters in Hodějice.

The animals benefit from fresh air and natural fodder. Their grazing helps preserve the precious meadowlands as it clears invasive plants and maintains the landscape in prime condition. A true win-win!

Each colleague received a Christmas gift from Milmar, featuring locally sourced and sustainable products. Last year, the gifts included Moravian wine, thermal mugs made of recycled materials, herbal teas by Sonnentor, and unique “growing” paper cards. These cards have meadow flower seeds embedded within them: simply plant the card, water it, and enjoy the blooms!

Farewell Lunch with Retiring Colleagues

Throughout the year, we enjoy having lunches with our colleagues. This year, two long-serving team members have retired, and to mark the occasion, we invited all our colleagues to a farewell lunch where we presented the departing colleagues with gifts.

We greatly appreciate that many people choose to stay with us for an extended period, and we wish our former colleagues many happy years in retirement. Especially good health!

Supporting Worthwhile Projects

We are pleased to contribute both financially and materially to meaningful initiatives in our community. Thanks to our support, the Diocesan Charity of Brno was able to organise a concert for the Three Wise Men Collection. The funds raised during this concert assist those who are sick, disabled, elderly, and otherwise in need.

Additionally, we participated in the 72 Hours project, organised by the Czech Council for Children and Youth. The initiative, which spans three days of volunteer activities, saw us donate tree trunk guards that volunteers used when planting new trees.

For Better Křižanovice

Our headquarters are located in Hodějice, neighbouring the village of Křižanovice where many of our colleagues reside. We have a long-standing commitment to supporting events at the local community centre sokolovna, traditionally backing children's sports day. The children participated in various sports disciplines and took home a commemorative T-shirt as a memento.

In November, we organised our first Volunteer Day as a company. Instead of coming to the office as usual, our team came together to plant a tree-lined avenue in Křižanovice.
